Ultramagnetic MC’s

madina meets kool keith

Ultramagnetic MC’s hit Brighton Concorde 2 last weekend for their 25th Anniversary Critical Beatdown tour.  I’d been itching to see them perform live for my first time. I’d been in touch with Kool Keith and his manager who put me and my brother on the guest list, very much appreciated.
So we waited for them to arrive after blagging through to the backstage area and chilled. They were well overdue and we thought it may not ever happen, Concorde 2 had a Drum and Bass club night straight after. Finally when they did arrive I managed to say a quick hello to Kool Keith who thanked me for the design and loved the new Photo-fit design.

Soon enough they hit the stage and we quickly worked our way to the front. The Ultras Ced Gee and TR Love rocked the stage to begin with then after a couple of songs brought on Kool Keith aka Dr Dooom, aka Poppa Large who referred to as Captain. The show was LARGE and they played some classics from Critical Beatdown and other bangers including Poppa Large. Dr Octagon also made a brief appearance and performed ‘Blue Flowers‘.

After the show I managed to meet the the Ultramagnetic MC’s – exchange T-Shirts and get my prints signed. They were nice guys humble and interested in the whole Madina thing which was great as the whole thing is to pay homage to these guys.

The following day we delivered some iJaaks goggles to Ultramagnetics. They were feeling the Ijaak vibe and I’m sure you’ll see them sporting them soon. Check them out here ijaak.com

Ultras are truly some of the most engaging and genuine guys you’re ever likely to meet and yes they were late and yes they missed a tune or two that I may have wanted to hear but fuck me these guys are legends and didn’t disappoint.

Big shout to the east coast! @MCsUltra @UltraMan7000 great to meet you guys!
